Q: Everything from the impact of a conservative presidency(people said a Reagan Presidency would bring us into nuclear war...we're still here), to Global Warming(it's been proven that our temperature has been DECREASING for a while. Why do we put up with this? Are we just hype-addicted zombies whose real lives are so mundane that we need hype to make them more interesting?
A: The media loves ratings, people watch when they're scared or worried. Take the current economic crisis. While lots of financial institutions are failing for making very very poor decisions, the airlines are turning around and doing quite well. Nobody is talking about them, because the media doesn't want you to realize that there's only one sector that's weighing down the markets. The fundamentals of the economy ARE, in fact, good. If anyone believed that though, then they wouldn't be so up in arms to get Obama elected so they can siphon the government for free money, free food, and free housing. There are lots of news zombies out there and it's very unfortunate. I agree that global waming is a joke, it wouldn't be an issue except that politicians have made it an issue.
